Hughenden Airport, Queensland, Australia

PROJECT SUMMARY

ACG was engaged by FK Gardner and Sons to support their construction management team in delivering the rehabilitation construction works to Hughenden Airport.

SCOPE OF WORKS
  • Advice on Removal and replacement of existing pavements with improved granular material
  • Lime stabilisation of subgrade
  • Foam bitumen stabilised granular layer
  • Triple coat spray seal
PROJECT CHALLENGES AND OUTCOMES

Due to funding arrangements, the construction had to be completed by end of financial year, and ACG were able to assist in streamlining construction and eliminate abortive and non-complying work. ACG were also able to provide independent advice during the construction to assist in resolving documentation inconsistencies by referencing airport industry practices and also provide engineering advice to resolve unforeseen construction outcomes that were not planned for by the design consultant. Due to our experience in airport design and construction we were able to assist FKG in meeting the tight deadline and achieving positive outcomes for the client.
