Engineering - Planning & Design

ACG Australia specialises in the planning and detailed design of airport projects with a primarily civil engineering focus to deliver industry leading technical innovation on diverse projects globally.

We specialise in pavement layout and rehabilitation, Obstacle Limitation Surfaces (OLS) drainage and electrical and lighting for local governments and commercial partners.

ACG’s approach to innovation is informed by the latest design theory and best practice thinking, while being tempered by the real-world realities of getting the job done.

We specialise in facilitating projects in rural and remote locations, driving an outcome of innovative solutions on complex airport development projects in some of the most challenging environments in the world.

Our approach is to provide multiple options that meet client requirements as well as budget levels across our planning and design management services.

Currently ACG Australia offers its engineering services in Australia and global markets.

Construction

“ACG Australia’s construction services are focused principally in the areas of pavements, drainage, electrical and lighting.”

ACG Australia’s construction services are focused principally in the areas of pavements, drainage, electrical and lighting for local governments and commercial partners.

Our construction services offer accurate construction and capital expenditure planning, while construction management ensures the contractor builds the project within time and budget, meeting the standards suited to specifications.

ACG Australia also provides highly specialised Work Safety Officers (WSOs) to assist with safety management during airport construction projects. WSOs play a very specific and specialised role in airport construction as they must be able to communicate with pilots and air traffic control as well as ground work teams.

Currently, ACG Australia only offers its construction services in the Australian market, however, ACG Construction Services offers Construction Management to both Australian and global markets.

Operations WSO/ARO

Airport operations can be complex with multiple industry, community and government stakeholders.

ACG Australia offers an end-to-end capability in the planning and delivery of airport operations to meet complex compliance and regulatory requirements.

Our operations capability encompasses air traffic management (ATM) infrastructure, services and systems, management of airport operations management, passenger screening services, passenger and cargo demand planning, air-route and airspace planning to capital and through life maintenance cost planning.

We also undertake aviation studies to facilitate infrastructure development approvals in proximity to airports, as well as conducting airport compliance, operations services and risk assessment audits.

Additional to this, ACG Australia provides Aerodrome Reporting Officers (ARO) meeting industry (CASA AC139) requirements to report on the safety of an aerodrome and facilitate repairs on critical aviation infrastructure.

Unlike many of its competitors, ACG maintains AS2426 Safety Management Plan, ASNZS4801:2001 safety accreditation and ISO 9001: 2015 industry accreditations which ensures its team is appropriately qualified for large scale projects.

ACG Australia has proven capability in performing strategic market studies globally having undertaken studies in Asia, Middle East, North Africa and Europe as well as in Australia and New Zealand.

Annual Technical Inspections

Christmas Cocos Island Airport - Airport Condition Assessments - Airport Consultancy Group

“Our operations capacity has recently expanded to meet the needs of the aviation industry, particularly operations. ACG is engaging with certified aerodromes across Australia promoting proactive and responsible inspection aerodrome facilities aiming to reduce compliance issues and maintenance costs.”

To ensure that they are compliant with CASRs and Part 139 Manual of Standards (MOS) and to assist them in operating the aerodrome safely, all operators of certified aerodromes are required to establish and implement a periodic technical inspection.

Its an unfortunate reality that over time aerodrome facilities and infrastructure will deteriorate over time until they are no longer safe for use or meet the required performance standards. An ATI enable the early detection that, without timely remedial works, could make the aerodrome facilities otherwise unsuitable for their intended purpose.

An ATI will encompass the following items:

  •  Obstacle limitation surface (OLS)
  • Monitoring critical obstacles associated with published terminal instrument flight procedures
  • Movement area pavement and drainage
  • Aerodrome lighting and electrical reticulation systems
  • Aerodrome markings and signs
  • Aerodrome equipment and facilities
  • Currency and accuracy of aerodrome information and procedures
  • Training and assessment of aerodrome personnel
