ACG undertook construction inspections and supervision at RAAF Amberley for P004 National Airfield Maintenance Works package for the Australian Department of Defence.

• Demolition and construction of concrete parking apron
• Asphalt overlay to runway and taxiways
• Time limited (night) works on active aircraft pavements
• Time constrained works through runway closure

• Attend site to inspect completed and ongoing works packages
• Review and approve release of Hold and Witness points
• Resolve construction issues

As the site is located on expansive clays, the new pavement works required special attention to minimise the risk exposure with this type of subgrade. ACG was engaged as a sub-consultant to the pavement design consultant and as such we were required to implement their specification and design intent whilst still meeting the client’s requirement of exceeding industry standards.
