Hamilton Airport, Victoria, Australia

PROJECT SUMMARY

Hamilton Airport Runway Extension Project – $2.2m.

SCOPE OF WORKS

ACG was engaged to construct an extension to the current Runway at Hamilton (Vic) Airport.

PROJECT CHALLENGES AND OUTCOMES

The extension required AGL upgrade and Flood Lighting to ensure compliance to the MOS 139. Significant excavation was required to comply to the transverse cross fall to the existing land exposing the highly reactive clay forming part of the sub-grade. Utilising ACG’s design team we were able to bring together a suitable and cost effective alternate to deal with the poor conditions. ACG delivered the project 6 weeks ahead of schedule which enabled the airport to be used as a hub for the fire fighting aircraft.
